All Industrial grade mining and transportation runs on oil, coal or gas. Without oil all airplanes would be grounded. No large military can function. Solar and wind are serve small consumer needs. They don’t have the power to run furnaces and heavy equipment.
All resources used for energy are limited and the more of anything you mine the more expensive it becomes as it reduces in quantity and ease of access.
We are going through oil/gas 10 million times faster than it can be recreated.
As we run out of energy the population will decrease accordingly. How it will do that is not pleasant thinking.
